Puerto Natales & Torres del Paine

I took a bus from Punta Arenas to Puerto Natales, a port town on Chile's Patagonia which is the gateway to Torres del Paine. The farmlands of the region looked vast but very barren and desolate in the frigid and arid climate. Surprisingly, there were relatively tall trees on the mountain trails of Torres del Paine. The scenery of the towers was really stunning. I was amazed at the trees, rapids, cascades and ruggid mountain terrain in the valley on the way to the summit. It took all day, climbing up and comining down. The weather was perfect which is not usual in the high mountains.
