Punta Arenas

I flew from Santiago de Chile to Punta Arenas, a city near the tip of Chile's southernmost Patagonia region in March 2019. This region is located on the Strait of Magellan, between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. The first plan was to visit Puerto Montt, a gateway to the Andes mountains and the Patagonian fjords in the Pacific, but changed to directly come to this southernmost city to save time and travel Torress del Paine as a base for the Patagonia. Actually there was no plane available for Puerto Montt. The Patagonia region was my dream long hoped for because it is one of the remotest and wildest on the planet. The strong treacherous cold winds made me feel somewhat flinched and shivered. I walked the town, met local people and visited the new shopping mall. It was a very unique experience.
